Quick Facts Location: 2700 Dolbeer Street, Eureka, CA 95501 Start Date: 09/03/2026 End Date: Ongoing / as scheduled Shift: 24-Hour Beeper Call, Inpatient Hours per Week: Variable (based on shifts) Employment Type: Contract/Locum Licensure: Active CA license, DEA required Experience: Neonatal airway management, UVC/UAC placement, neonatal resuscitation and management, intubation, chest tube placement for neonates, lumbar puncture, EKG interpretation; preferred ventilator management and neonatal chest tube insertion Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 Benefits: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements (if applicable) Robust referral bonus program Dedicated support team 24/7 team assistance throughout assignment What You ll Do Provide inpatient pediatric care with 80% NICU/neo-natal management and 20% general pediatrics Manage neonatal emergencies, including intubation, UVC/UAC placement, and pneumothorax procedures Support delivery room resuscitations and neonatal stabilization Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for complex pediatrics and neonatal cases Handle neonatal airway management and emergent procedures as needed Maintain documentation and updates on patient care What You Need CA medical license and DEA registration Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP certifications 3+ years of pediatrics or neonatology experience in a medical center setting Neonatal intensive care experience including airway and ventilator management (preferred) Ability to handle neonatal emergencies confidently About the Assignment This assignment involves providing comprehensive pediatric inpatient care with a focus on neonatal and prematurity management, including NICU patients down to 32 weeks and newborn resuscitations. The facility supports a high-acuity, complex pediatric and neonatal population, with emphasis on neonatal emergencies and procedural skills.
