Quick Facts Location: Jena, LA, United States Start Date: 09/07/2026 End Date: 07/31/2026 Shift: 8-10 hours shifts, 40 hours/week Hours/week: 40 Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099) License/Certs: Active medical license in Louisiana and DEA; BLS/CPR certification required Experience: Prior primary care experience preferred Pay & Benefits Hourly Rate: $150.00/hour Pay Package: Discussed upon application Benefits include: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You'll Do Provide direct patient care to diverse detainee populations, including adults and children, in a detention facility setting Conduct physical assessments, manage acute and chronic medical conditions Oversee and collaborate with medical staff, including APPs and nurses Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with specialists when needed Document all clinical encounters following facility policies and HIPAA regulations Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in staff meetings Maintain compliance with licensing, privileging, and security requirements What You Need Required: Active medical license in Louisiana and DEA registration BLS/CPR certification 3+ years of medical practice experience, ideally in primary care or correctional/detention settings Strong communication skills, cultural competence, and ability to work independently Preferred: Experience in correctional or residential healthcare settings Proficiency in Spanish (preferred but not required) About the Assignment Join a dedicated team supporting detainee healthcare at a leading facility in Jena, LA.
