JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Endocrinology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Scarborough, ME Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Nov 02, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (4x10-hour shifts), or Monday-Friday (5x8-hour shifts) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 16-20 patients Case Mix: Endocrinology and Diabetes FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: EPIC REQUIRED PROCEDURES Thyroid FNA (preferred but not required) General endocrinology and diabetes management JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified (Required) Licenses: Active ME License or Universal License (IMLC) (Highly Preferred) willing to review licensing candidates Other Qualifications: Experience with EPIC EMR; Thyroid FNA ability highly preferred; Covid and flu vaccine required; References from 2 supervisors and 1 peer within 12 months required. Duties & Responsibilities Provide outpatient endocrinology and diabetes care in an ambulatory clinic setting. Manage new patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and hospital discharge follow-ups. See 16-20 patients per day, 4 days per week (flexible 4x10 or 5x8 schedule). Collaborate with onsite Certified Diabetes Educators for patient education and diabetes management. Optionally perform thyroid fine-needle aspirations (FNAs).
