JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Cardiac Anesthesia Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Omaha, Nebraska Service Setting: Academic Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Jul 20, 2026 Aug 2, 2026 Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 8-10 hour days; overnight and weekend call Call Type: Beeper Callback Rate: Weekday 2-3 hours, Weekend 1-2 hours Reason for Coverage: Current locums cancelled Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered COVERAGE DATES Jul 20, 2026 Jul 24, 2026 Jul 27, 2026 Aug 2, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult and Geriatric only, no pediatrics Case Mix: Cardiac (open heart, thoracic, vascular, structural heart), General OR cases as needed FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 187 beds Trauma Level: Level 1 EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) Cardiac anesthesia for open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart cases General OR anesthesia as needed JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesia and Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) Licenses: Active Nebraska license or Universal License (IMLC) highly preferred; will consider candidates needing to obtain license Certifications: TEE Certification (Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography, NBE testamur status) Experience: Fellowship in CV Anesthesia with TEE certification, or minimum 5 years documented CV Anesthesia experience with TEE certification Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice and background history; Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation; Must be available for specified dates Duties & Responsibilities Provide cardiac anesthesia for open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart surgeries Perform transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) as needed Cover general OR anesthesia cases when required Participate in unrestricted overnight and weekend call rotation Supervise CRNAs occasionally
