Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Providing individualized, age-appropriate care that addresses the unique needs of infants, toddlers, and children facing a wide array of conditions, including neuromuscular, orthopedic, genetic, and developmental challenges.
  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess functional capabilities and creating tailored care plans that outline therapy goals focusing on enhancing mobility, independence, and participation in daily activities.
  • Utilizing play-based and creative interventions to make therapy both fun and engaging for young patients, turning sessions into lively experiences that motivate children to work toward their developmental milestones.
  • Collaborating closely with families and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment; providing education on exercises and home programs that reinforce skills learned in therapy.
  • Maintaining precise and organized documentation in our user-friendly electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring that progress notes are clear, concise, and up-to-date.
  • Participating actively in team meetings, continuous education sessions, and collaborative training opportunities to enhance collective knowledge and keep abreast of best practices in pediatric therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our pediatric patients range from infants to children up to 18 years old who may experience difficulties stemming from a variety of diagnoses. As a therapist, you will engage with a wide range of conditions and developmental stages, ensuring that each child receives tailored support. You will work with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner, enhancing outcomes through empathy and innovative therapeutic practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, with a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure in the State of California.
  • A strong desire to work with children and families, coupled with excellent communication skills.
