Overview of the Role and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit functions during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC supervises, assesses, and enhances nursing care in line with established protocols. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's mission and values, aiming to foster an outstanding patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates the admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
  • Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to cultivate a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Embraces a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Contributes to the facility's engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, such as employee rounding and hourly checks.
  • Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care requirements and established productivity standards.
  • Ensures effective inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Our facility is a 270+ bed hospital located near downtown Chattanooga, offering a wide range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These include cardiovascular surgery, cancer treatment, intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. We also feature a state-of-the-art neurosurgery program, OB-GYN services, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), along with behavioral health treatment centers for both children and adults.
