Location: Remote ( Must reside in the Greater Chicago area ) Pay: $26/hour Duration: 4-Month Contract Hours: 25-30 hours/week
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for approximately 300 employees across multiple pay groups. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently while meeting critical deadlines.
Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll and off-cycle payrolls
Review and validate timecards, earnings, deductions, and adjustments
Process bonuses, commissions, retro pay, severance, and other special payments
Maintain employee payroll records and updates
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
Partner with HR and payroll team members to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Qualifications
3-5+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience
Strong experience with UKG Pro Payroll
Multi-state payroll experience required
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and payroll deadlines
