Details: Position: Payroll and Tax Manager Client: Bank Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Duration: 12 Months Contract Pay Range: $66 - 70/hr Benefits: The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, (paid time , paid sick and safe time , hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, paid holidays annually - AS Applicable) Responsibilities: • Manage timely and accurate payroll tax remittance activities through third-party vendors • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings and reconciliations • Support W-2/W-2C processing and payroll tax amendments • Respond to federal and state payroll tax notices and audits • Reconcile payroll tax balances, withholdings, unemployment taxes, and vendor reports • Partner with Treasury, Accounting, and Payroll teams on compliance-related matters • Support payroll tax system testing, upgrades, and process improvements Experience: • 5+ years of high-volume multi-state payroll tax experience • Strong experience with Federal, State, and Local payroll tax regulations • Hands-on experience handling payroll tax notices, amendments, and audits • Experience with Smart Compliance or similar third-party payroll tax platforms • Strong Excel and reconciliation skills • Experience supporting NY and CA payroll tax compliance is highly preferred • Large ERP payroll environment experience is a plus
