Payroll Administrator

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Administrator with strong ADP experience to manage and process payroll accurately and on time. This role will be responsible for maintaining employee payroll records, handling payroll changes, supporting compliance requirements, and assisting with related HR and benefits administration tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, confidential, and experienced in multi-state payroll processing and payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain payroll information including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, and direct deposit updates
  • Review and audit timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
  • Manage payroll records in ADP
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, taxes, and time reporting
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for management, accounting, and audits
  • Coordinate with HR and Accounting regarding benefit deductions, garnishments, PTO balances, and employee changes
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information
  • Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in payroll administration required
  • Hands-on experience with ADP is required
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, payroll taxes, and wage/hour compliance
  • Experience with timekeeping systems and employee record maintenance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with employees across departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll experience
  • Experience processing payroll in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, garnishments, and PTO tracking
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, HR, or related field preferred
