Orthopedic Surgeon

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon for a locums opportunity in Michigan. This role involves 24-hour call shifts with specific dates in November and December, focusing on inpatient and outpatient care. The surgeon will handle bread-and-butter orthopedic cases, providing essential coverage for emergency department calls.

Practice Info

• Practice setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• EMR: MediTech
• Facility Trauma Level: III
• Typical cases are bread-and-butter orthopedic cases; sick or complicated patients are transferred
• Types of cases include fractures, sports, general orthopedics, and total joints
• Orthopedic PAs and full surgical staff available

Responsibilities

• Admissions and rounding on assigned and unassigned patients
• Coverage for emergency department call on a rotating basis
• Come onsite when the Emergency Department requests a consult
• Perform Arthroscopy
• Perform Total Joint Replacement (Hip, Knee, Other)
• Perform Joint Revision or Repair (Shoulder, Hip, Knee)

• November 27, 2026 - November 30, 2026
• December 19, 2026 - December 23, 2026
• 24-hour beeper call shifts, 7am-7am
• Call response time required: 20 minutes

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon
• Active Michigan license or IMLC
• Active Michigan CDS and DEA
• Required Procedures / Skills: Arthroscopy
• Required Procedures / Skills: Total Joint Replacement (Hip, Knee, Other)
• Required Procedures / Skills: Joint Revision or Repair (Shoulder, Hip, Knee)
