Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Trainer is responsible for training all new hires and transfers within warehouse and transportation operations including all shifts and all temperature zones. The Operations Trainer Supervisor will also be responsible for re-training associates identified as not meeting performance standards. Operations Trainer will reinforce essential skills to improve or become a safe, competent, productive commercial driver via classroom or through one to one on-road training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
  • Responsible for instruction and training in warehouse/forklift and driver occupations that will prepare the new hire
  • The core focus is to ensure new hires and transfer associates are successfully trained to meet the performance goals of high quality and productivity.
  • Analyzes instructional situations and develops an effective course of action to achieve maximum learning by the associates(s)


QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Graduate or Driver CDL with Trade school certification (transportation). Commercial Driver License Class "A" and "B"

As a result, this classification may affect your job responsibilities and will subject you to compliance requirements under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations - including participation in the DOT Drug and Alcohol Random Testing Program. Candidates must have: • Be 21 years or older • No drug or alcohol violations within the past 3 years • No open violations listed in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse


Experience
2 years of experience as a Driver or Warehouse

Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, effective written/oral communication skills, strong analytical skills

Decision-Making Authority
Most important decisions made fully independently:

  • Training will include, but is not limited to: warehouse and transportation, including receiving, put away, shipping and packing; safety; transportation, driver, business systems, etc.
  • Identify areas to improve processes and reduce errors and develop training to support those objectives.
  • The operations trainer is responsible for developing candidate skills, knowledge, and attitudes commensurate to the goals of the program and effectively using materials and equipment to meet goals.

Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):

  • Develop new training methods to deliver training to all associates within the facility.
  • Make employment decisions based on learning and development or in constant performance.
