Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!</p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong>:<br><br>The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients and developing treatment plans that promote the ability to perform daily activities and improve functional independence.</p><p>Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation</p><p> </p><p><strong>Why join us </strong></p><p>We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. In addition to your base compensation, this position also offers</p><p><strong> Financial & Career Growth:</strong> Higher education and certification tuition assistance, loan assistance and 401(k) retirement package and company match.</p><p><strong> Employee Well-being:</strong> Mental, physical, and financial wellness programs (free gym memberships, virtual care appointments, mental health services and discount programs).</p><p><strong> Professional Development:</strong> Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities Immediate.</p><p> </p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Evaluate patient conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.</li><li>Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' daily living skills.</li><li>Document treatment sessions and patient progress accurately and timely.</li><li>Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and families on care planning.</li><li>Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment.</li><li><p>Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.</p><p> </p></li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.<br><br><strong>Skills:</strong></li><li>Basic computer knowledge.</li><li>Knowledge of equipment utilized in the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of therapy.</li><li>Must be able to determine appropriate patient procedures and evaluate results.</li><li>Ability to maintain control and respond calmly and positively during crisis situations.</li><li>Appropriate telephone communication skills.</li><li>Team-oriented and patient-focused with strong communication skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and documentation skills is required.</li><li>Familiarity with rehab documentation systems is preferred.<br><br><strong>Physical and Safety Requirements:</strong></li><li>Good general health and stress coping ability. Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all constituents (patients, families, peers, and other healthcare team members) as needed for assessment, intervention, and professional development. Possess near vision acuity for accurate reading of equipment and recording on patient charts.
