Job Description
Position: MPL (Materials, Planning, and Logistics) Specialist
Responsible for coordinating materials planning, inventory control, production support, and logistics activities for automotive components using ERP systems to ensure timely material availability, appropriate inventory levels, and reliable customer deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Review customer orders, production schedules, and demand forecasts to determine material requirements and replenishment needs
Monitor raw-material and finished-goods inventory and maintain appropriate safety-stock levels
Coordinate purchasing activities and supplier delivery schedules to support production requirements
Manage inbound shipments, receiving schedules, warehouse transfers, and outbound customer deliveries
Use ERP systems to track inventory, purchase orders, production transactions, order status, and material movements
Coordinate with production teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules and changing customer demand
Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and monthly closing activities
Communicate with domestic and international suppliers regarding purchase orders, delivery schedules, material shortages, and shipment status
Identify material shortages, transportation delays, and other supply-chain risks that may affect production
Coordinate with quality personnel to address material defects and specification issues
Analyze material, inventory, and transportation data to improve operating efficiency and control costs
Support improvements in materials management, production planning, warehouse operations, and logistics processes
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Knowledge of materials planning, inventory control, production scheduling, and logistics operations
Experience with ERP or materials management systems preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly the automotive industry, preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
