MEP CAD Designer

The CAD Designer II is a key contributor responsible for producing accurate, detailed plumbing and mechanical designs that support first time quality for clients. This role requires strong technical ability, excellent communication, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

Software / CAD

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously using CAD software
• Develop plumbing and mechanical designs aligned with client and company specifications
• Produce pre fab drawings and state, permit, and construction documents within required timelines

Project Design

• Create detailed, code compliant plans for plumbing and mechanical systems
• Maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality across all design deliverables
• Ensure all drawings meet internal standards and project requirements

Information Gathering

• Review builder documents and interpret project options accurately
• Confirm all designs meet applicable plumbing and HVAC code requirements
• Gather and apply information from multiple sources to ensure complete, compliant designs

Communication

• Collaborate with architects, general contractors, field engineers, project managers, and internal departments
• Ask clarifying questions and incorporate multiple perspectives to define project scope
• Use project management software to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow transparency

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively and incorporate feedback
• Excellent prioritization, organization, and problem solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Ability to use Revit, Navisworks, Design Review, and Bluebeam
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 4+ years of CAD design experience
• Basic construction knowledge required

Schedule & Work Environment

• Monday-Friday
• On site in Indianapolis
• Indoor office setting with moderate noise and light foot traffic
