Aluminum Boat Builder - Welder / Fabricator
Job Summary

ARMOR Industries, LLC (the parent company of ARMOR Marine) is seeking an experienced Aluminum Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Anacortes, WA. In this role, you will play a critical part in constructing and refitting premium aluminum boats. Shift & Schedule
- Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt
- Shift: Day Shift, 10-hour shifts
- Work Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Enjoy a 3-day weekend! Some overtime available).
- Work Location: In-person (Anacortes, WA)
Key Responsibilities
- Precision Fabrication: Fabricate and weld high-quality aluminum components for new boat construction, ensuring structural integrity and precise fit-up.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and work directly from 2D blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute accurate assemblies.
- Quality Control: Perform self-inspections on all completed welds and fabrication to ensure strict compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Refits & Repairs: Assist with vessel refits, modifications, and repowers, utilizing specialized aluminum repair techniques.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional departments and team members to maintain a safe, clean, organized, and highly efficient marine manufacturing shop.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on aluminum welding and fabrication experience (experience specifically in new boat construction or shipyard environments is highly preferred).
- Welding Skills: Proven proficiency in Aluminum MIG Welding
- Fabrication Skills: Proven ability to fabricate, form, shape, fit, any and all parts as part of vessel construction
- Technical Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret 2D blueprints, technical drawings, and marine schematics.
- Practical Skills: Ability to pass an on-site practical skills test (which includes layout, fabrication, prep and fit-up, weld quality, and basic shop math with decimals and fractions).
- Tools: Must possess standard personal tools of the trade (such as a die grinder, basic fabrication tools, welding hood, etc.).
- Safety Mindset: A strong commitment to quality, PPE usage, and workshop safety protocols.
