Manager, Engineering

Remitly, Inc. seeks a Manager, Engineering to drive the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a digital fraud detection platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help deliver engineering products to identify and protect Remitly and its customers against remittance fraud attacks. Plan, gather requirements, architect, and implement rollout of experimental and actual applications. Balance system quality and feature velocity through flexibility within the team. Develop operational and engineering excellence roadmap, and execute the roadmap to ensure appropriate technical priorities to reach short- and long-term goals. Position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, and 3 years of experience with developing reliable and scalable applications and services. Experience must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: launching digital features and scalable infrastructure that meets customer needs; developing enhanced user experiences by redesigning workflows, prototyping new features, and ensuring continuous integration; functional and automated integration testing; structuring and scaling Agile development processes; leading technical teams, including recruiting strategy, sourcing, structuring loops, interviewing, and closing candidates; mentoring engineers on technical skills through design and code review, and leading performance evaluation and career development; architecting production scale services; protecting financial data with Hardware Security Module (HSMs); and C#, Confluence, Git, Java, JIRA, Jenkins, .NET, object-oriented programming languages, PHP, Python, scripting languages, and SQL. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the United States based on manager approval.
