Essential Duties & Responsibilities Subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of the handling of official government mail. Selects from alternative methods and refers problems using applicable ARMY and Postal regulations and published standard operating procedures. Processes and sorts incoming and outgoing classified and unclassified mail in mail room. Hand delivers classified mail to appropriate recipients throughout the site. Prepares proper documentation paperwork for receipt and mail out of classified mail. Maintains proper logs for recording receipt and mail out of classified mail. Maintains an up-to-date directory by name, organization, building number and telephone number for use in work assignments. Keeps daily account of monies used from metered mail and prepares a quarterly PAPA report. Maintains postage machine. Follows established procedures or steps to process paperwork. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds. Performs other related work as assigned. Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records; verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; and handling and investigating complaints. Will establish work flow of incoming and outgoing mail through the mail room. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance. Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Access. Two years' verifiable data entry level computer experience. Prior government mail distribution experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must pass the Official Mail Managers course annually. Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position. Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. U.S. Citizenship. Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools - e.g., Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry standard software.
