The Low Voltage Technician plays a critical role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems including telecommunications, audio/visual, networks, control systems, and integrated controls. Working primarily within a small team of 2-4, the technician will handle system integration and wiring tasks while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes. Occasional local travel is expected to support various job sites. The technician will utilize a range of tools such as hand tools, digital testing equipment, power tools, ladders, and lifts to efficiently complete assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Install and prewire low voltage systems including telecommunications and integrated controls, including rough-ins on large residential or commercial job sites.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system issues using digital testing tools
  • Test equipment and verify functionality before and after installation
  • Perform wiring and structured cabling tasks compliant with electrical codes on new builds, buildouts and retrofit applications.
  • Document system configurations, tests, and repairs accurately
  • Adhere to safety procedures on job sites and during technical repairs
  • Integrate systems using networking concepts such as DHCP and ARP tables
  • Utilize Crestron, Lutron and other control system platforms for system integration
  • Work collaboratively within a small team environment
  • Daily travel locally to job sites as required to complete the tasks
  • Safe operation of Scissor Lifts or Boom lifts up to 50' may be occasionally required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with low voltage systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in low voltage wiring and system troubleshooting
  • Full understanding and capacity to perform low voltage prewire for new construction and retrofit applications
  • Knowledge of electrical code compliance and blueprint reading
  • Experienced operating testing equipment and diagnostic software
  • Strong communication skills for customer interactions
  • Committed to safety awareness and technical documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
