AC Smart Homes is hiring a Low Voltage Technician focused on residential integration technology, smart home systems, and audio/video installations.

This position is for someone with hands-on experience installing, wiring, servicing, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems in custom homes and high-end residential projects. The ideal candidate has experience with Control4, Crestron, Lutron, AV systems, home theaters, distributed audio, networking, security cameras, access control, and structured wiring.

This role requires clean wiring, attention to detail, professional job-site behavior, and the ability to work around homeowners, designers, builders, electricians, and other trades.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service residential low-voltage and smart home systems
  • Pull, label, terminate, and test Cat6, coax, speaker wire, control wire, security wire, and other low-voltage cabling
  • Install and support Control4, Crestron, Lutron, and similar smart home systems
  • Install TVs, speakers, soundbars, amplifiers, AV receivers, matrix systems, media racks, and home theater equipment
  • Install distributed audio and video systems for multiple rooms and entertainment areas
  • Install network equipment, Wi-Fi access points, switches, routers, patch panels, and structured wiring enclosures
  • Install security cameras, door stations, intercoms, access control devices, and related low-voltage equipment
  • Assist with lighting control systems, keypads, smart dimmers, and motorized shade wiring
  • Build and organize AV racks, network racks, and equipment rooms
  • Terminate and test cables to confirm proper signal and system performance
  • Troubleshoot audio, video, network, camera, control, and wiring issues
  • Read and follow low-voltage plans, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and device layouts
  • Coordinate with electricians, project managers, general contractors, designers, homeowners, and other trades
  • Keep installations clean, labeled, organized, and professional
  • Document completed work and report project issues when needed

Requirements

  • Low-voltage installation experience required
  • Experience with residential smart home, AV, network, or security systems
  • Experience pulling, labeling, terminating, and testing low-voltage cabling
  • Basic understanding of networking, including Cat6 wiring, switches, routers, Wi-Fi, IP devices, and patch panels
  • Experience installing TVs, speakers, AV equipment, racks, cameras, or access points
  • Ability to read basic plans, wiring layouts, and installation notes
  • Clean workmanship and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, cable testers, tone generators, and basic troubleshooting tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic hand tools
  • Professional attitude and good communication skills
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to follow directions
  • Able to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, ceilings, equipment rooms, racks, and active job-site conditions as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Control4 installation or programming experience
  • Crestron installation or programming experience
  • Lutron lighting control or shade system experience
  • Home theater installation
  • Whole-home audio systems
  • Video distribution / video matrix systems
  • AV rack building and cable management
  • UniFi, Araknis, Pakedge, Luxul, Ruckus, or similar network equipment
  • Security camera systems and NVRs
  • Access control and intercom systems
  • Motorized shades and lighting control wiring
  • Custom homes, luxury residences, remodels, or new construction projects
  • Manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required
