Position Summary

As an experienced third-party late stage Collector, you will manage an assigned portfolio of consumer accounts and work directly with borrowers to negotiate payment solutions - all while delivering compliant, respectful and professional customer experience.

This role is a strong fit for collectors who enjoy problem-solving, negotiating payment arrangements, hitting performance targets, and working independently in a remote setting. Success requires professionalism, polished communication, sharp negotiation instincts, and the ability to manage multiple systems while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Manage an assigned portfolio of delinquent private student loan accounts
• Contact consumers by phone to negotiate payment arrangements and repayment solutions
• Educate borrowers and co-signers on available options in a clear, empathetic manner
• Conduct skip tracing and account research as needed
• Accurately document all account activity in real time
• Navigate multiple software platforms simultaneously while engaging with consumers
• Meet or exceed monthly recovery and quality performance goals
• Maintain strict compliance with company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations
• Deliver a respectful, professional experience on every consumer interaction

What We're Looking For

Required

• Minimum 3 years of recent third-party collections experience - Required
• Must have recent experience collecting on charge-off accounts (aged 180+ days) - Required
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collection goals
• Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening abilities
• Comfortable working independently and self-managing in a remote environment
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and work across multiple platforms
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits
• Stable work history that demonstrates reliability and professionalism

Preferred

• Private student loan collections experience strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a monitored remote work-from-home collections environment
• Familiarity with performance-based incentive compensation structures
• Background in highly regulated financial services or collections environments
• Demonstrated ability to navigate difficult conversations while remaining professional and compliant

Work Environment

We have a few fully remote, work-from-home positions remaining and a few on-site hybrid roles in the corporate office of Marlton, NJ.

Employees are expected to maintain a professional home office environment with reliable high-speed internet (hardwired ethernet connection required) and the ability to work free from distractions during scheduled shifts.
