Laser / Punch Press Programmer Location: Bergen County, NJ (on-site) Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 Type: Full-time, Exempt Reports to: Production Manager About the Opportunity A precision medical device contract manufacturer is looking for a hands-on Laser / Punch Press Supervisor to lead its sheet metal fabrication department. You'll own programming, scheduling, tooling, and people for the department. This is a strong fit for an experienced programmer who is ready to run a team in a regulated, high-quality environment. What You'll Do Develop and oversee CNC programs for laser cutting and turret punch press components, delivered on time and right the first time Run day-to-day department operations and partner with the Production Manager and other supervisors across two facilities Schedule and stage work orders, assign operators, and give them the job information they need Step in as a backup programmer or operator when needed Design and select tooling for specific materials and processes Review ECNs and update programs according to internal procedures Coordinate with Maintenance to keep equipment properly maintained, and make sure operators handle routine upkeep Help manage the team, including hiring, training, corrective actions, and annual reviews Drive continuous improvement in run rate, quality, and efficiency across programs, processes, and tooling Support special projects such as quoting, purchasing, and validating new equipment and technology What You Bring 10+ years of laser and/or punch press experience, including 5+ years of hands-on programming Experience with Amada, LVD, Trumpf, or comparable equipment. Amada AP100 programming is a strong plus. Ability to set up and run laser and punch jobs from supplied layouts, and to choose the right tooling Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Medical device or ISO 13485 experience is a plus. Working knowledge of GMP Strong GD&T, blueprint reading, and knowledge of sampling and inspection plans Comfort with precision measuring instruments Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office, and production or ERP systems Leadership and communication skills to work with all levels of the plant and, occasionally, customers A record of success in a fast-paced, deadline-driven shop Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience Physical Requirements Standing for long periods, with frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling Lifting up to 25 lbs Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe 10+ years of laser and/or punch press experience, including 5+ years of hands-on programming Experience with Amada, LVD, Trumpf, or comparable equipment. Amada AP100 programming is a strong plus.
