The Commercial Litigation Attorney will handle a variety of commercial disputes focusing on contract disputes and debt collection within a large firm litigation department. This role requires substantial experience managing cases from initial evaluation through trial and settlement across local, state, federal, and appellate courts. The attorney will engage in client consultations and participate in occasional travel as needed to represent clients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate cases to determine strengths and weaknesses
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Prepare for trial including evidence organization and witness coordination
  • Consult with clients regarding case progress and legal options
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Represent clients in court appearances across multiple court levels
  • Manage documentation and court filings efficiently
  • Handle collection actions and review compliance with relevant laws

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial litigation
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Proficient in legal research and litigation management
  • Strong negotiation and trial preparation skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract law and civil procedure
  • Ability to advocate effectively for clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and time management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
