Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations across two manufacturing facilities supporting the production of baked goods. This role is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, leading preventative maintenance initiatives, supervising maintenance technicians, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of all production and packaging equipment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within a food, beverage, bakery, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing environment and possess the technical expertise to troubleshoot and maintain high-speed automated production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians across two facilities.
• Establish daily priorities and coordinate maintenance activities to support production schedules.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support during equipment failures and emergency repairs.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure timely completion of PMs, inspections, and work orders through the CMMS system.
• Analyze equipment performance and downtime trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Drive predictive maintenance initiatives to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

Maintain and troubleshoot:

• Industrial bakery equipment
• Mixers, blenders, and ingredient handling systems
• Ovens, proofers, and cooling systems
• Conveyors and material handling equipment
• Packaging and labeling equipment
• Pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Compressors, boilers, refrigeration systems, and facility utilities

Continuous Improvement

• Partner with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining food safety and product quality standards.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, GMP, and company safety standards.
• Maintain maintenance records, spare parts inventories, and equipment documentation.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure all maintenance activities meet food manufacturing sanitation requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising maintenance technicians.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

• Experience in bakery, food processing, beverage, dairy, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and automated production systems.
• Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities.
• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent maintenance training.
• Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
