Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist / Acute Care (Observation Unit) Location: Major Academic Medical Center in Southern California Start Date: ASAP; approximately 6 7 weeks from accepted offer Contract Length: 26 weeks; potential ongoing
Schedule 3x12s weekly 11:00am 11:30pm shifts Full-time only No call Training orientation on day shift (7:00am 7:00pm) for initial onboarding shifts Practice Details Acute care hospital setting Observation / inpatient medicine unit Lower-acuity inpatient population Mix of admissions, discharges, post-op monitoring, consults, and standard medical management APP paired with attending physician Large academic teaching hospital environment No procedures required EMR: Epic Support from physician and inpatient medicine teams Clinical Scope Manage observation and inpatient medicine patients Conduct admissions and discharges Perform post-operative monitoring and routine inpatient management Coordinate consult services and escalation of care Collaborate closely with attending physicians Document care plans and patient management within Epic Provide comprehensive inpatient medical management within a teaching hospital environment Requirements Nurse Practitioner Acute Care certified Active California NP license required Minimum 2 years recent inpatient medicine experience required Experience in large academic teaching hospital strongly preferred Acute care/inpatient medicine background required Epic experience preferred Ability to work within collaborative physician-led inpatient teams Credentialing Estimated 6 7 weeks for credentialing/temporary privileges Brief initial manager screening via phone/text Final interview conducted virtually with Medical Director California-licensed providers only; no licensing assistance available
