Job Description

The Goodman Group is seeking a full-time Payroll Support Specialist to join their Finance team. The primary purpose of the Payroll Specialist is to provide payroll process for any of The Goodman Group companies, ensuring payroll is processed in a timely, compliant and accurate manner. This position will also be a point of contact for our employees, solving solutions, and provide human resources support with regards to or related to the ADP system. This position offers a hybrid working option between working at the home office of The Goodman Group located in Chaska, MN and out of your home. This hybrid option is available after 90 days of employment with approval from your manager. In addition to a flexible work environment, the salary range is $65,000-$75,000 plus benefit options such as healthcare insurance, 401k with company match, generous paid time off, tuition reimbursement, professional development, along with so much more!
Payroll Support Responsibilities
Monitor and respond timely to Help Desk e-mails and calls. Delegate, log and track status of tickets.
Support employees in the field through problem solving processes, following standard Help Desk procedures
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
Recommend procedure modifications or improvements, or notify leadership of recurring issues
Payroll Processing Responsibilities
Process assigned payrolls in a confidential, accurate, compliant and timely manner, taking ownership of the payroll companies
o Manage the workflow process to ensure timely and accurate completion of payroll responsibilities.
o Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
o Process new hires from HR Applicant Tracking System
o Ensure garnishment calculations and compliance requirements are completed
o Process pay cards transactions as necessary
Handle all employee questions and/or concerns regarding payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist in implementation of payroll processing efficiencies and act as technical payroll resource to others.
Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Adherence to FLSA, monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll
Make determinations regarding application of wage and hour law and oversees preparation of periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions (upon request).
Process and respond to employment verifications.
Process and respond to unemployment inquiries and requests for information

Knowledge and Critical Skills
Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
Knowledge/proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience
2-year college degree or equivalent.
3+ years of full payroll processing experience.
Knowledge of federal and state, tax jurisdiction rules affecting payroll preparation
Experience with processing Multi State payrolls
