Position Title: Forklift Operator
Location: San Jose, CA (Metal Warehouse)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00AM - 3:30PM) or (3:00PM - 11:30PM)
Type: $22.00/hr

Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently handling, moving, and staging metal materials within the warehouse and yard. This role is critical for supporting order fulfillment, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring timely customer deliveries. Operators will work closely with sales counter staff and delivery drivers to pull, load, and restock materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, side-loaders, and other warehouse equipment to move sheet, plate, bar, and tubing materials
• Load/unload trucks with customer orders and supplier deliveries
• Stage orders for customer pick-up and verify accuracy against sales orders
• Perform material pulls from racks, bins, and storage areas
• Conduct basic inspections of forklift and equipment before operation
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and yard work environment
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA guidelines for material handling
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed (wrapping, banding, cutting support, etc.)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ year experience operating a sit-down forklift (certification preferred)
• Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs as needed
• Basic math and measurement skills (important for cutting/material handling)
• Strong attention to detail, safety-first mindset
• Prior experience in metal supply, construction supply, or industrial warehouse setting
• Forklift certification (company may provide if expired)
• Familiarity with ERP/warehouse management systems for scanning orders
