Role Summary The Finance Systems Manager contributes to developing the strategic priorities and ensuring tactical execution for the finance-related technology tools used by Client. The Finance Systems Manager leads and establishes priorities for the team that provides functional support for PeopleSoft (AM, AP, AR, BI, GL, SCM), and other financial systems, including revenue, fuel, treasury, tax, materials, financial reconciliation and reporting, and multiple internal and external interfaces. This role is the expert when it comes to financial system best practices and communicating best practices to relevant people and groups. Key Duties Operations/Administration: Provides functional and business analyst day-to-day support and project support, and ensures critical financial systems are appropriately supported and resourced. Manages the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of a portfolio of financial systems and integration with critical business systems, spanning across multiple areas/disciplines within Finance and Supply Chain (including but limited, to Revenue Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Financial Reporting, SCM). Requires general and industry specific expertise. Oversees the change request process, quality assurance (testing) effort, production implementations, and backlog prioritization process for the major finance division systems. Collaborates with others in the organization to fulfill reporting requirements. Enhances efficiency and performance by delivering operational improvement through process reengineering. Streamlines the reporting and period-close process from a systems perspective and ensures data integrity between main systems and interfaces. Manages the development of user procedures, guidelines, documentation, and manages ongoing adherence. Leads/performs other duties as assigned. Partner with leaders in accounting to ensure appropriate internal controls exists and are documented for the technology applications and processes. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Partners with IT, Finance, and SCM leadership to ensure alignment of the projects with finance system. Develops strong relationships with key internal customers by listening, understanding needs, defining shared objectives, proactively consulting, and collaborating to meet technology goals. Applies project management skills, change management, creativity, and business acumen in leading a team to design and implement system changes, and deliver cost-effective training and process improvements. Maintains transparency by appropriately communicating information (e.g., division and department meetings, on-on-one meetings, email, IM and interpersonal communication). Job-Specific Skills Required A minimum of 5 years in a PeopleSoft functional analyst or similar role. A minimum of 2 year of leadership experience, with successfully building, leading, and managing cross-functional teams. Possesses a blend of technical and business acumen (e.g., big picture vision and the drive to make the vision a reality). In depth understanding of finance and accounting processes and relevant enabling technologies. Strong analytical skills, equally capable of providing strategic input and macro analysis as well as deep diving into the financial and operational details to provide analyses of complex financial data, processes and technology. Excellent strategic, organizational, project management, interpersonal, leadership and customer service skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex facts, and information in easily understood presentations. Experience in building constructive and effective relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, and influencing people who are not direct reports. Works effectively in a collaborative environment with project team peers, leadership, and end-users. Passionate about business being done right with the ability to produce timely and accurate results. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum age of 18. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Familiarity with PeopleSoft or other ERP systems. Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards, and/or federal and state tax and labor reporting requirements, depending on area of support. Experience building and coordinating cross-functional teams. Broad knowledge of/experience with finance functions including systems, communication, and application of federal/state/local regulations. Background in Financial systems management, financial systems implementations. and/or conversions. Experience with SOX or equivalent related to IT controls. Bachelor's degree, with a focus in finance, economics, accounting, IT, business administration, or a related discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of a degree with these specific areas of focus.
