Position Overview

Next Generation Payroll is recruiting an experienced Garage Door Installation Technician for a highly rated garage-door service company in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

The technician will install, service, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial garage-door systems. The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate professionally with customers, and complete installations safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

Install residential and commercial garage doors
Install and align tracks, panels, rollers, cables, springs, brackets, and related hardware
Install, program, test, and troubleshoot garage-door openers, remotes, safety sensors, and controls
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
Repair or replace damaged and malfunctioning components
Measure openings and confirm proper spacing, leveling, alignment, balance, and clearance
Inspect and test completed work for safe operation
Explain repairs, installation work, and operating instructions to customers
Maintain tools, materials, equipment, and the assigned company vehicle
Keep jobsites and customer property clean and protected
Complete service documentation and communicate job updates
Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements

Required Qualifications

At least one year of hands-on garage-door installation experience
Experience installing complete garage-door systems
Knowledge of tracks, panels, rollers, cables, springs, motors, openers, sensors, and controls
Mechanical troubleshooting and repair ability
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and installation equipment safely
Ability to work independently and manage a daily field schedule
Professional and respectful customer communication
Valid drivers license and a good driving history
Ability to meet the companys vehicle-insurability requirements
Ability to complete a job-related criminal background check in accordance with applicable law
Ability to perform the physical requirements of garage-door installation and service work

Schedule

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional Saturday or extended-hour work may be required based on customer needs and project schedules.
