Afternoon EMS dispatcher will be answering calls from 7am to 7pm 3 days a week. Starting base pay is $25/hr plus bonuses. We are located in Nashville.
Must be proficient in communications via phone and computer. Prefer someone with a strong administrative background.
Will be responsible for:
Forecasting total call time, including factoring in on scene and destination time, travel time via Google maps, and if a long trip, factoring in fuel stops so that calls can be scheduled appropriately so as to keep crews on time for pick up times given to facilities, and also to ensure that calls taken will fit within the crew's shift time.
Dispatcher will be responsible for gathering information on insurance type, destination type (home residence or facility), and if home residence, asking if they have steps or a ramp and how much the patient weighs.
Some calls may spill into day shift, so dispatcher will have access to the call schedule to see where calls can go in the morning or afternoon the next day as needed.
Calling facilities before the crews arrive on scene to ensure that the patients are ready for transport
Candidate will be subject to a background check. Training on our system and way of doing things will be provided.
Prefer people with some medical background, but can provide training in basic medical terminology.
Prefer people with EMS dispatching experience.
There is also administrative work involved like giving quotes, invoicing, running reports, etc.
Minimum requirements:
Having excellent customer services skills
Able to multitask
Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of adding to spreadsheets.
Able to sit for long periods of time.
Have a High School Diploma
Basic medical knowledge
