Experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician

Location: Roanoke Rapids, NC

Are you a skilled E & I maintenance professional looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our Roanoke Rapids Mill team is seeking experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians (E&I) to help maintain and repair state-of-the-art paperboard manufacturing equipment.

The E/I Technician will repair, maintain, and install plant electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment

Pay Range: $31.19 - $41.56 per hour (based on education and experience)


What You'll Do

  • Work alongside experienced mentors to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Support continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for unplanned shutdowns.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot advanced control systems (DCS, PLC).
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for process control systems.
  • Complete work orders, documentation, and change control procedures accurately.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines.

What You Need to Succeed

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 4 years of verifiable Electrical or Instrument experience: (or a combination of both)
  • Good understanding of basic math for electrical/electronics
  • Manufacturing and/or Mill experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs using Windows based operating systems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to identify voltage levels with the use of digital multi-meters
  • Two-year technical degree, registered apprenticeship, or equivalent formal training desired
  • Willing to work a rotating shift
  • Scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends/holidays and in varying conditions (heat, noise, indoor/outdoor)
