Job Description

We are searching for an analytically minded diesel mechanic to help our repair shop's customers resolve issues with their vehicles' performance, structure, appearance, and functionality. Our ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers about their vehicles' performance and maintenance history. You'll be tasked with inspecting automobiles' mechanical components, systems, and parts to determine their necessary fixes. You'll also maintain repair shop equipment and prepare cost estimates. If you're an automotive professional with excellent customer service skills, please apply today!Compensation:$25 - $35 hourlyResponsibilities:Collaborate with supervisors and fellow auto mechanics to diagnose and repair vehicles' mechanical issues
Encourage and facilitate preventive maintenance work such as oil changes, air conditioning service, flushing, brake replacement, tire rotation, and more
Preparing estimates, timelines, and other necessary documents for auto repairs
Maintain accurate customer records for vehicles' repairs, parts, maintenance histories, and more
Perform system inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine necessary repair work

Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Immediately reports any discrepancies to the Fleet ManagerEnsures compliance with all fleet processesUnder general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipmentUtilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairsPerforms service calls for emergency breakdownsConducts safety checks on vehiclesCompletes required paperwork utilizing the fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair timesReviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportsMaintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety proceduresOther duties as assignedQualifications:Experience and manual dexterity using hand tools and other equipment is needed
Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are necessary
Associate's degree from a vocational program, technical school, or community college is preferred - ASE certification is a big bonus
Valid driver's license needed

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Other Requirements:Valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record.
