Department Manager - Deli (Lakewood Ranch)

Job Overview

Chamberlin's Natural Foods has been serving our local community since 1935, with a passion for providing quality natural products, organic foods, and nutritional supplements.

In addition to having the highest quality standards, we are known for our exceptional customer service and highly knowledgeable staff. An existing knowledge of natural products is appreciated, but not required. All store associates will be trained on our offerings and have access to resources for continuing education.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise deli staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Ensure exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, resolving complaints, and providing product recommendations
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Oversee food production and ensure adherence to food safety guidelines
- Monitor quality control measures to maintain freshness and presentation of deli products
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
- Provide ongoing training to staff on food handling procedures, safety protocols, and customer service skills
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Skills:
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees
- Previous experience in food service management, preferably in a deli or restaurant setting
- Proficient in food handling procedures and knowledgeable about health and safety regulations
- Ability to oversee food production while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and vendors
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Other Requirements:

- Ability to lift 40lbs, stand throughout shift, stoop and bend to lift items.
