Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact by supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment near Hubbard Lake, MI. This part-time contract opportunity is designed for passionate educators looking to make a difference, offering flexible service delivery-on-site preferred, but VOCO/virtual is accepted. The tentative assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with a schedule of 10 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Michigan teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing-verification required via the Michigan Department of Education
  • Demonstrated experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students (K-12)
  • Competency in using technology and virtual platforms for instruction, if needed
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet individual educational goals
  • Provide direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and families
  • Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development
