Database Administrator III

Job Description: SaiTech, Inc. seeks a Database Administrator to help modernize and transform a broad portfolio of enterprise business solutions for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In this role, you will join a collaborative team where strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication are essential for success. You will work with diverse platforms, applications, and infrastructure that span the entire Agency, engaging with both Enterprise Applications stakeholders and end-user communities. Responsible for the administration and maintenance of database systems implemented in support of NASA applications. The database infrastructure consists of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL platforms. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Demonstrates solid knowledge in database design, development and integration principles Fundamental knowledge of database administration best practices and techniques Experience supporting mission critical database management systems Understanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database Administration Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovery of enterprise database systems Conceptual knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures Good understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environment Experience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting language Must have good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skills Effectively works in a team environment with other DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment Schedule flexibility is required to support on-call DBA rotation and the ability to respond to trouble tickets within time required by SLAs
