We are seeking a Data Platform Architect to provide technical leadership in building and evolving enterprise data platforms. In this role, you will design, engineer, and deliver reusable, cloud-based data products and shared services that enable organizations to securely build digital services and analytics capabilities.

You will balance high-level technical strategy with practical hands-on execution partnering with solution architects, delivery teams, and enterprise security/governance stakeholders to establish engineering standards, automation, and scalable multi-tenant platform services.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Platform Architecture: Define the target architecture and multi-year execution roadmap for large-scale enterprise data platforms aligned with overall modernization goals. Evaluate emerging technologies while maintaining architectural consistency.
Platform Engineering: Build Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and continuously mature the cloud data platform over time. Set engineering standards, operational guardrails, and secure multi-tenant environments.
Enterprise Enablement: Design and construct standardized platform services and onboarding patterns for adopting teams rather than one-off, specific implementations. Develop AI-ready infrastructure and reusable data products.
Security & Governance Integration: Partner closely with CISO, Cloud Engineering, and GRC teams to integrate IAM, RBAC, encryption, and audit controls into the data platform while maintaining clear operational boundaries.
Technical Leadership: Drive engineering best practices (API-first design, infrastructure as code, shift-left security) and collaborate across cross-functional teams to promote scalable, product-based data sharing.

Qualifications & Desired Experience
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
o 10+ years of total experience building large-scale cloud data platforms.
o 7+ years of hands-on experience in modern data architecture, platform engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
Technical Proficiency:
o Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
o Strong knowledge of modern DevSecOps practices and shift-left security principles.
o Deep experience with cloud and data platform ecosystems (such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, and containerized applications).
o Experience implementing robust enterprise security controls (IAM, RBAC, multi-tenancy, encryption).
Core Competencies:
o Proven ability to start ground-up platform initiatives and design reusable capabilities.
o Strong background in leading through influence across matrixed enterprise teams.
o Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technology concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
