JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Specialty: CRNA - General Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Hershey, PA Service Setting: Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: ASAP Dec 31, 2026 Shift Schedule: 10-hour shifts: 8:30a 7p 12-hour shifts: 6:30a 7p (7a start on Thursdays) Reason for Coverage: Vacancy - Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics (ages 5+) Case Mix: General, Orthopedics, Trauma, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Endoscopy, NORA, Robotic Surgery, Gynecology, ENT FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Specialty Backup Available: Yes (anesthesiologists and other CRNAs) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required Trauma Spinal Anesthesia Neurosurgical cases Head Spine Thoracic cases (except open heart) Complex orthopedic cases Ventilation management Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues Central Line placement Arterial Line placement Preferred General Anesthesia Adult Pediatric Neonatal Epidural Anesthesia Regional Anesthesia Surgery Obstetrical Cases Open Heart Anesthesia Complex vascular cases (except open heart) Pain management techniques Post-op epidural Post-op extremity blocks Epidural steroid for Lumbar Epidural steroid for Cervical Transforaminal Lumbar Cervical Use of x-ray guidance in performance of blocks PA Catheter placement CRNA supervision JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified (Certified) Licenses: Active PA license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Experience: Minimum 1 year experience Other Qualifications: EMR proficiency (Cerner), ability to work in a team-based care environment (medical direction model 2:1 or 3:1 CRNA to anesthesiologist ratio) Duties & Responsibilities Perform pre-anesthetic evaluation and develop anesthetic plan. Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. Perform invasive monitoring (CVP, arterial line) and airway management. Manage patients in perioperative period including post-operative assessment. Collaborate with anesthesiologists in a medical direction model (2:1 or 3:1 ratio).
