Position Overview

The Cosmetology Educator is responsible for providing engaging, comprehensive instruction that prepares students to excel both on the state board and in real-world salon environments. This role combines technical expertise with motivational teaching to ensure each student receives a transformative learning experience aligned with Style Mobb University's mission of excellence, confidence, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in all areas of cosmetology including haircutting, coloring, styling, chemical services, skincare, nail care, and sanitation.

  • Prepare lesson plans aligned with the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology curriculum and SMU's internal standards of excellence.

  • Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic and attendance records.

  • Support students in mastering both theory and practical skills necessary for state licensure.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, customer service, and salon management principles to instill career readiness.

  • Participate in staff meetings, ongoing training, and community events representing Style Mobb University.

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and empowering classroom culture that motivates students to achieve their goals.

  • Assist with curriculum enhancement, student advising, and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • Current Georgia State Board of Cosmetology Instructor License (required).

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional salon or cosmetology experience.

  • Prior teaching or training experience in a cosmetology school preferred.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills.

  • Passionate about mentoring and shaping the next generation of beauty professionals.

  • Proficiency with technology and digital teaching tools (preferred).
