Cook Chef / Wok Chef

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Wok Chef to join SriThai Kitchen and Sushi Bar. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of Asian-inspired dishes using traditional wok techniques. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, has a deep understanding of Asian flavors, especially Thai and Japanese, and maintains high standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all menu items using a wok with precision and efficiency.
• Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Ensure timely preparation of dishes meeting restaurant quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wok station and kitchen equipment.
• Collaborate with kitchen team for smooth operation during service.
• Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and restocking as needed.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Communicate shortages or maintenance needs to the Head Chef.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Wok Chef or similar role in an Asian restaurant.
• Expertise in stir-fry techniques and cooking over high heat.
• Ability to work quickly with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of Asian cuisine, especially Thai and Japanese ingredients.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in Asian cuisine.
• Culinary training or certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with health and safety kitchen practices.
• Experience with inventory management and team collaboration.
• Bilingual (English/Thai, Burmese, Spanish, Chinese) is an advantage.
