A growing construction organization in the Winston-Salem area is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support high-volume AP operations within a fast-paced project-based environment. This role is ideal for someone with construction accounting experience who understands job costing, vendor compliance, and subcontractor documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Process high-volume invoices with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring proper coding and approvals
Perform three-way matching (invoice, purchase order, receiving documentation) where applicable
Manage weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation (lien waivers, etc.)
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and subcontractors
Support job costing and project accounting functions
Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and accounting staff to ensure accurate cost tracking
Assist with month-end close activities and reporting needs
Qualifications
3+ years of accounts payable experience; construction industry experience required
Experience working in high-volume AP environments
Proficiency in a construction ERP system
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
