We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in our commercial construction operations, focusing on the estimation of commercial roofing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial roofing projects by analyzing the plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. This role requires a deep understanding of roofing materials, labor costs, and the ability to use estimating and construction software efficiently.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
2. Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists necessary for commercial roofing projects.
3. Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost-effectiveness.
4. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
5. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
6. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
7. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
8. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
9. Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimation.
2. Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, construction processes, and theories.
3. Proficiency in Blluebeam software and other construction estimating software.
4. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
5. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
6. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make accurate judgments and decisions.
7. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
8. A thorough understanding of the commercial construction industry, including the various stages of construction projects, from design to completion.
9. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations effectively.
11. Knowledge of safety and legal documentation procedures for the construction industry.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
13. Valid driver's license and clean driving record
14. Ability to travel within 120 miles
15. Must be a legal resident of the U.S.
