Join Orlando Credit Union as a Commercial Loan Assistant, where you'll play a critical role in supporting commercial and small business lending operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented financial professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional member service. You will work closely with loan officers, members, and third-party partners to ensure accurate processing, compliance, and execution of commercial loans while contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.

• Serve as a key operational partner to Commercial and Small Business Loan Officers by supporting the full lifecycle of commercial loans-from application through closing and post-closing servicing.
• Prepare, review, and process a wide range of loan documentation, including new originations, renewals, modifications, extensions, and payoffs, ensuring adherence to approved terms and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate loan closings by collaborating with attorneys, title companies, insurance providers, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Execute loan transactions such as disbursements, advances, and paydowns while maintaining accurate system records and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Maintain and audit loan files, systems, and documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor collateral and due diligence requirements, including appraisals, insurance, tax documents, and UCC filings, ensuring all compliance standards are met.
• Track and manage tickler systems, exception reports, and required documentation to proactively resolve deficiencies.
• Support onboarding of commercial members by introducing products and services and ensuring a seamless member experience.
• Monitor loan portfolios for compliance, performance, and risk indicators such as past dues, overdrafts, and reporting discrepancies.
• Assist with annual loan reviews by collecting and analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and related documentation.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for member and internal inquiries, delivering timely and professional service.
• Support audits and regulatory examinations by preparing documentation and addressing requests.
• Generate and maintain reports related to loan activity, portfolio performance, and compliance tracking.
• Provide operational support, training assistance, and backup coverage to ensure continuity within the lending department.
• Act as liaison with third-party loan servicers and assist with specialized functions such as Letters of Credit and credit committee documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.

• 2-4 years of prior experience in commercial loan operations or commercial loan closing environment.
• Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
• Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services relating to retail and commercial account customers.
• Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal credit union compliance regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills; highly motivated and well organized; excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Physical requirements involve performing general office activities. This role will require you to regularly stand, sit, and talk for long duration. The role will also frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, and will occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Working Environment: Normal climate-controlled office setting with moderate noise.
