Position Overview

The Coffee Shop Manager at Influence Café oversees daily café operations while advancing the brand's mission of blending specialty coffee, science-based education, and the cultural legacy of Yemeni coffee traditions. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who is excited to grow with a new, purpose-driven café and contribute to building something meaningful from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

• Manage daily café operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations

• Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS reconciliation

• Ensure consistency in product quality, preparation, and presentation

• Monitor inventory, manage ordering, and coordinate with approved suppliers

Team Management

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise baristas and support staff

• Lead staff training on customer service, product knowledge, ingredient transparency, cultural awareness, and educational engagement

• Foster a professional, inclusive, and growth-oriented work environment

Customer Experience

• Maintain high standards of hospitality and customer engagement

• Address customer concerns, feedback, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner

• Encourage staff to educate customers on coffee origins, traditional Yemeni preparation styles, and science-based insights when appropriate

Brand, Culture & Educational Integration

• Uphold Influence Café's brand standards, science-informed messaging, and cultural identity

• Support implementation of educational materials related to caffeine science, ingredients, and traditional coffee practices

• Ensure respectful representation of Yemeni coffee heritage through service, storytelling, and presentation

• Assist with promotions, events, and community collaborations

Financial & Administrative Duties

• Track daily sales, labor, and basic operational metrics

• Optimize staffing and workflows to support both quality and sustainable growth

• Prepare basic operational reports for ownership review

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience managing a coffee shop or café

• Proven leadership and team management skills

• Strong organizational and communication abilities

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment

• Knowledge of basic food safety and health regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in science, health sciences, nutrition, pharmacology, biology, or related fields

• Experience with specialty coffee or culturally focused café concepts

• Interest in coffee origin stories, traditional preparation methods, and educational hospitality

• Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management
