CNC Programmer

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for various machining operations, ensuring precision and efficiency in production. This role requires a strong background in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge, with proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes. The CNC Programmer will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within our facility.

Duties

• Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines, lathes, and other CNC equipment using CAM software such as Mastercam.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with specifications.
• Set up and optimize CNC machines, including Fanuc controls, to produce precision parts according to engineering standards.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixtures, or machine operation to minimize downtime.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve machining efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to refine processes and improve product quality.
• Maintain documentation of programs, setups, and process parameters for future reference and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with CNC programming for milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc controls.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks for designing parts and tooling layouts.
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.
• Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with CAM programming software for toolpath generation.
• Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, machining operations, schematics, and schematics interpretation.
• Ability to read blueprints accurately and understand schematics related to manufacturing processes.
• Strong math skills including geometry and measurement calculations necessary for precision machining.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at optimizing production workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
