Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working closely with the management team, the CNC oversees, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engaging in ongoing assessments of the quality of care provided in the unit, collaborating with management team members.
  • Working with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Promoting a patient-first philosophy and participating in service recovery when necessary.
  • Supporting facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly checks.
  • Providing input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as recommending and executing actions related to training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and managing labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
  • Ensuring proper inventory management and assisting with the oversight of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
