Job Description Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled CDL Truck Driver to join our transportation team. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials to designated destinations. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring the timely delivery of products and contributing to our company's reputation for reliability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• It is the driver's responsibility to know, understand, and operate according to all laws and DOT regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip, inter trip, and post trip inspection for all units operated in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulation 49 C.F.R. 396.11, including checking water levels, oil, tire condition, lights, and overall equipment status before starting each day.
• Responsible for daily fueling of the tractor(s) used.
• Operate vehicle safely while maintaining DOT compliance and following all local, state, and Federal requirements. Respecting the value of the vehicle, cargo and surrounding traffic.
• Responsible for keeping your tractor clean and neat. (Also pertains to when assigned use of spare truck; keep neat, clean and refueled).
• Collaborate with shipping as required.
• Coordinate with Fleet Maintenance as required.
• Verify load and load destination and proper load securement.
• Ensure trailers are properly sealed, checking seal numbers against the Bill of Lading.
• Responsible for filling out all paperwork on any returned products.
• Responsible for completing the day's work that is picked from the schedule.
• Every driver is responsible for picking up Epic pallets and not leaving them for the next driver.
• Accurately report hours of service in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations 49 C.F.R. 395.8 and 49 C.F.R. 395.11 using an electronic logging device (ELD). Review log and then certify log at the end of each day.
• Responsible for chocking trailers before unhooking at loading and unloading docks.
• Must turn off engine when hooking or unhooking inside of truck bays.
• Be courteous to customers and all people at locations.
• Report to work at designated times for assigned route/routes in a well-rested condition ready to work and drive.
• Document and report any defects or concerns with truck/tractor and/or trailer within the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and submit it to Fleet Maintenance.
• Responsible for Compliance with all Epic GMPs & Safety Policies.
• Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years or older
• Must pass all DOT requirements, physical exam, and drug test.
• Valid CDL license
• Good MVR and safe driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Fluid levels and Fueling: Must have general knowledge of proper procedures of checking fluids / fuel and replenishment process.
• FMCSA Regulations: Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements and regulations, including hours of service.
• Defensive Driving: Attending all required safety training and knowledge of defensive driving techniques that anticipate dangerous situations, despite adverse conditions or the mistakes of others when operating a motor vehicle. This includes managing space around vehicles, managing speed of travel, maintaining awareness of other drivers, checking, and using mirrors, and using indicators such as signaling.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES:
• Remain in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
• Operate motorized vehicles such as tractor trailers.
• Climb ramps and/or stairs to enter/exit tractor and/or trailer.
• Ability to engage in crawling, crouching, kneeling, or stooping as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Work varying hours of the day as required.
• Work in environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toe boots and close-toed slip resistant shoes.
• Work in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
