Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise children in the Child Watch area, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts to promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Enforce YMCA policies and safety procedures consistently
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's needs and behavior
- Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate staff members promptly
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain attentive, patient, and nurturing in a dynamic environment
- Basic knowledge of child safety and emergency procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional childcare certifications are a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
