Chief Information Officer Job Description: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) position will serve as a strategic business partner and enterprise change agent, responsible for aligning technology, data, and digital capabilities with HITT's growth ambitions and operating complexity. Given the increasing technology-enabled nature of the business landscape, the CIO will play a key role in partnering with the Executive Leadership Team to help shape the company's broader strategic direction, development, and future growth. The CIO will be a thought partner to the Executive Leadership Team, shaping the IT roadmap, monetizing data, enablement platforms and applications, cybersecurity, infrastructure resiliency and enterprise systems modernization. As HITT continues its expansion, the CIO will be instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with business objectives, ensuring their technological infrastructure is robust, secure, and primed for growth. Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of a modern technology strategy encompassing application development, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital. Manage large-scale, cross-functional IT initiatives to improve performance, scalability, automation, service continuity and competitive differentiation. Advance HITT's data architecture, integration, and analytics capabilities. Define and execute a modern enterprise data strategy, enabling actionable insights through scalable architecture, governed data practices, and advanced analytics to drive smarter decisions across the organization. Oversee the data architecture enabling robust business intelligence, operational analytics, and customer insights. Lead the implementation of AI-enabled solutions, including automation of manual processes (e.g., AI-assisted data entry and document ingestion). Balance execution (60%) with innovation (40%), ensuring delivery while building future capability. Ensure technology solutions work and are adopted in high-velocity, decentralized field environments with multi-background users. Champion the digital experience and ensure technology support and enablement best serve HITT's Evaluate and optimize partnerships with technology vendors, consultants, and managed service providers. Support virtual design and construction (VDC), reality capture, drone deploy, and job-site tools. Ensure technology resilience, compliance, and cybersecurity readiness across systems, networks, and endpoints. Establish a proactive, ZERO TRUST strategy that safeguards enterprise systems, customer data, and operational continuity in an evolving threat landscape. Provide ongoing transparency to the Executive Team and Board regarding technology investments, KPIs, and innovation roadmap. Recognize the parallels and distinctions between construction, manufacturing, and engineering operating models Ensure reliability, speed, and usability across job sites where execution happens in real time Bring structure, accountability, and delivery discipline to an enterprise applications function that requires greater execution rigor Leverage external partners strategically while avoiding over-reliance on consultants Build a culture that encourages experimentation, "fail fast and pivot," while managing risk responsibly Collaborate closely with the executive team and all business levels to develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy spanning the entire value chain, from front-end to back-end operations. Lead the scaling of the technology and digital function by driving integration, fostering cohesion, and implementing future-ready strategies across architecture, infrastructure, and technology capabilities. Position the organization to achieve NIST certification while advancing the maturity and effectiveness of its cybersecurity framework. Drive the integration and utilization of data to deliver operational and business value, while championing initiatives in AI, robotics, and automation. Innovate and enhance digital products to ensure an automated and seamless customer experience, contributing to increased market share and competitive advantage. Serve as a key member of the leadership team, acting as a strategic advocate for technology and digital transformation both within the organization and in external engagements. Qualifications 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise IT roles, including at least 5 years in a top technology executive role. Background in complex, asset-intensive, field-based environments (e.g., construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, logistics) Demonstrated success leading both digital product teams and IT infrastructure/operations. Experience operating at scale with decentralized operations and high operational variability Strong background in cloud-native architectures, modern software development, and enterprise applications (ERP, TMS, CRM, etc.). Proven track record in executing complex digital programs, balancing innovation with operational discipline. Experience designing and implementing a data strategy, including analytics platforms, governance, and value delivery. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across complex matrixed organizations. Financial and vendor management acumen, with experience managing large budgets and third-party ecosystems Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Sciences / Engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
