BOOK COVER DESIGNER (PHOTOSHOP) - PART-TIME CONTRACT POSITION Join a Growing Family-Owned Publishing Company White Rose Publishing is seeking creative and passionate Book Cover Designers to join our growing remote team. We specialize primarily in fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, dark fantasy, science fiction, and related fiction genres. We are looking for designers who understand the book market, enjoy visual storytelling, and are excited about helping authors bring their stories to life. This is a fully remote 1099 Independent Contractor position with advancement opportunities based on skill, reliability, and performance. WHAT YOU'LL DESIGN • Ebook front cover designs • Genre research and market analysis • Typography and title treatments • Licensed stock image manipulation • Fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, romance, thriller, and science fiction covers As skills grow, opportunities may expand into paperback wraps, hardcover wraps, audiobook covers, marketing graphics, and premium design projects. MUST HAVE PORTFOLIO PREFERRED DESIGN STYLE: PHOTOBASHING Photobashing combines multiple licensed stock photographs, textures, lighting effects, digital painting, typography, and Photoshop compositing techniques into a seamless market-ready cover. AI USAGE POLICY Acceptable AI usage includes Photoshop AI tools, Generative Fill and Expand for cleanup work, minor compositing assistance, and workflow acceleration tools. Heavy AI-generated artwork is not permitted. HAND ILLUSTRATORS WELCOME Traditional and digital illustrators are encouraged to apply. Portfolio required. DESIGNER LEVELS & PAY STRUCTURE J1 - 30% Commission I2 - 35% Commission A3 - 40% Commission E4 - 45% Commission P5 - 50% Commission WORKLOAD 1-3 projects per week initially, with potential growth to 5-10 projects per week. PAYMENT SCHEDULE Sunday-Saturday work week. Paid the following Friday via Invoice after projects are approved and marked complete in Airtable. TRAINING & GROWTH Virtual workshops three times per year, mentorship opportunities, publishing industry education, and advancement opportunities.
