Job Description
Responsible for performing basic vehicle maintenance, routine inspections, and minor repairs under the supervision of senior technicians. This role focuses on learning shop operations, mastering foundational tools, and delivering efficient, high-quality preventive service to ensure customer vehicles operate safely.
Core Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance: Perform standard oil changes, fluid flushes, tire rotations, wheel balancing, and filter replacements.
Safety Inspections: Complete multi-point vehicle inspections, checking fluid levels, tire tread, brake wear, and battery health.
Basic Repairs: Assist with straightforward mechanical tasks, such as replacing brake pads, windshield wipers, light bulbs, and belts.
Diagnostic Assistance: Run basic onboard computer diagnostics and shadow senior technicians to learn complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Documentation & Cleanliness: Document all completed services and additional repair recommendations accurately on repair orders. Maintain shop cleanliness and keep tires and stock organized and clean.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: High school diploma, GED, or enrollment/completion of an automotive technology training program.
Experience: 0 2 years of experience; entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic hand tools, shop equipment, and a strong willingness to learn vehicle electronics and mechanical systems.
Requirements: A valid driver's license and the physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (like tires), and maneuver in tight spaces.
