Job Description

s degree in Humanities, Spanish language and culture studies or related field; and 6 months experience teaching college level courses (this experience can be through employment, training or an academic program); native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required. The Associate Instructor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures will teach in the Spanish Language Bridge program, teaching college-level courses in high schools in Salt Lake County exploring literature, pop culture, history, politics, art and cinema in the Spanish Language; courses will include Spanish Pop Culture, Literature and Film, and Breaking Down Walls/Building Identities focusing on critical moments of change in the Spanish-speaking world; assist students transitioning from high school to university level. The Associate Instructor will also manage the Bridge program, which involves attending team meetings for the Bridge Program and Dual Language Immersion, curriculum revision and support, communication with high school and university stakeholders, develop/lead professional development trainings and conducting coaching to participating high schools.
